"big sky big land..." 6"x15" 3 colour litho ed. of 10

3-colour offset litho, varied ed. of 24. 10”x8”

3-layer litho. ed. of 16. done for a print exchange, 4”x5”

intaglio

“i don’t want to make you have to wonder” intaglio, ed. of 6

"there is nothing else you can threaten to do" 10"x7" intaglio, ed. of 3

“pity” litho, ed. of 6

“i want it and i will have it” intaglio, ed. of 5

“loving you…”, 2-colour risograph, A4, ed. of 50. i had to bring this in to university to use their scanners because mine refused to pick up just how intensely pink the standard riso fluo pink is. i love it!

“playing with my food”, 1- to 3-colour linocuts, 11”x9”. playing with abstraction via maximalism; the last print is three different plates stacked on top of each other. really like how the second one vibrates a little when you look at it: it’s my favourite part of playing with intentionally off registration plus complementary colours.

“dinner (shrimp)”, linocut, 12”x9”ish

"no title”, 2-colour linocut, about 5”x8”?

“staring directly at the sun”, linocut, 20”x10”

cyanotype on japanese paper, a little smaller than 12” square

cyanotype on linen, about 14” square (give or take)… the texture’s to die for

attempting a mokuhanga print of this little cow figurine. three plates; lower left came out the best. i was using incredibly crappy plywood for this so carving accurately was like dragging the image up a hill.

cyanotype!! 12”x9”!!

cyanotype! 9”x12”!

“like a body you bury in the ground” 9”x7” 4-layer woodcut print, ed. of 9. 2024. this is actually an off one because of the visible watermark in the top right corner, but the really good ones are currently getting graded by my print professor.

“angel ascending into heaven”, colour woodblock print. 7.5”x7.5”, variable edition of 16. last two images are respectively a mask from the printing process and the tracing paper from transferring the image onto the block.

a gif i made of 10 of the prints!

“bull”, 2-plate linocut on japanese paper. no edition (yet.) 2024.

free for infinity. linocut, 2023. another one i originally made for patches but printed on paper for posterity. i’m very happy with how fine the linework is on this one- it’s kind of delicate, which is not a word i often see used w.r.t. linocuts.

flail, 2023. carved to do for patches, but i also printed some on paper all official-style.

here’s the same block on some canvas.

a closer-up pull of “the standard…”

block for “the standard…”. i had to carve this on two blocks jammed together because i couldn’t find lino plates big enough. unfortunately this means every print of it has a little line in the middle, but if i do a good pull it’s barely noticeable. on a bad pull, it’s another story.

“the standard of ultimate surrender”, linocut on canvas, embroidery, trim, sculpey. 2’x3’, 2023. this guy took a month to make and i have a lot to say about it that i haven’t written out yet.

another pull, this one done with an actual press.

“DO NOT EAT”, 2022. i was 3/4ths of the way through carving this before i realized i’d done the rookie mistake of not reversing the text. i think i cried. however, it was already too late, and i’m not a quitter, so i stuck to it and ended up carving the entire plate backwards. luckily it makes up for that by looking incredibly sicknasty.

“minotaur”, 8.5”x11” 2-colour riso print, ed. of 50. 2023. i love minotaurs… i love how they sit at the uncomfortable edge of masculinity and monstrosity… and i love making them gay.

“witchcraft” 11”x17” 2-colour riso print. ed. of 50. 2023. after king gizzard and the wizard lizard’s song of the same title. i made this to sell to fans because people seemed to really like it but the logistics of sending posters out are kind of annoying so it’s taken me a long time to get around to it. in hindsight i wish i’d done the layers more how i would with a woodcut- the red layer didn’t go under the hatching/black lines so it looks a little strange in parts. it’s a cool effect but i kinda regret it.

a better pull than the red guy, done on an actual press. my scanner isn’t big enough to get the whole image and it’s very annoying.

“unburdened hope”, linocut, 2021. covid had made me want to lie down and cry for a million years, but i carved this in time to get it on shirts for expozine and it made me feel a little better. this kind of block was kind of hard to carve, but that may also have been because my carving tools are Old and Dull.

a pull of this plate done on the living room floor. the speckles are bits of dust. DIY is very glamorous.

“open the door”, 2021? 2020? i don’t know. this was also made to print on shirts, and they came out pretty solidly.

“demon of nature”, 2019. the first largeform print i’d done since high school! there are some clumsy bits especially with the background nonagons, but overall i’m still very satisfied with this one. it was also printed on shirts!

2019, “BE NOT AFRAID” and “hand of glory”. these were made to print on little patches and also as a test to see if i could, like, still make prints at all. they worked out pretty nicely!

2019 - this one doesn’t have a title, but i carved it to use to make holiday cards for my neighbours/loved ones/etc. it’s very cozy.

the oldest print i have evidence of! i did this one in high school, which is why it’s so janky. circa 2010 or so. i found this accidentally on an old memory card and i’m glad i did!
